Fellow Travelers,
Three weeks have passed since the catastrophic earthquake in Haiti. We’ve seen pictures and listened to the news reports detailing the damage. Something like this does bring a nation together. It has been exciting to hear and see how God is working here at home and in Haiti. The reconstruction of Haiti will take many years, but through the generous efforts of people around the world; it will happen.
James 1:27 says, “Religion that God our Father accepts as pure and faultless is this: to look after orphans and widows in their distress and to keep oneself from being polluted by the world.”
Here at ULCN we’ll do our best to follow what the Word of God says. We’ll pray for our brothers and sisters in Haiti, and we’ll do our best to reach out to those struggling in our community and around the world. However, it doesn’t end there; James says we must keep ourselves from being polluted by the world. Guard your hearts and be in the Word of God!
